Managed by BPR Properties, The Hotel Paradox is 170-room hotel located in Downtown Santa Cruz, less than a mile from the Beach. The Hotel Paradox welcomes employees into a serene, but whimsical environment where nature is playfully blended with sophisticated style. Paradox prides itself on bringing a chic luxury style hotel into a causal beach setting. To add to the fun, the Hotel Paradox also features a Farm to Table restaurant with an indoor/outdoor bar overlooking a lively pool deck.

 

What We Look For...

We are seeking a warm and friendly Hostperson who can provide prompt, courteous service in any restaurant, bar, and banquet area of the hotel.

 

The Key Responsibilities:

  • Check on a daily basis with Chef and/or Sous Chefs for any menu edits.
  • Ensure cleanliness of other available menus and discard stained/damaged menus.
  • Answer the telephone within three rings and respond professionally, and identify yourself.
  • Take accurate and complete reservations.
  • Ask if the reservation is for a special occasion and if guests have any special needs/requests.
  • Calls back guests to confirm reservations.
  • Checks in reservations though Open Table, escorts guests to table at a comfortable pace.
  • Have your station ready for service before restaurant opens and guests are seated.

 

The Model Qualifications:

  • Previous restaurant experience preferred.
  • Must have current ServSafe Food Handlers certification.
